Mosin rifle 1891 Russian repeating rifle constructed at the end of the nineteenth century by Sergei Mosin. This rifle and its development versions were the basic armament of the Russian infantry and the Red Army from the 1890s to the 1950s, when it was replaced by an AK assault rifle.
